We build software to make mobile life easier. That’s why we invented Filter Words Marking.

But there are still things that could be and should have been simpler.

What’s the point of marking a black number but still letting SMS from it pass through? Do we really need any Filter Mode other than blocking for black SMS? If they are not blocked, our minds are.

So in Leech Killer 1.6, all black SMS are blocked. There is one less preference. Not bad.

If all dirty things are deemed junk, we only need two lists: all SMS & junk SMS. It’s easier to switch between two lists using menus than a List Mode preference. So one more less. Messages tab’ Settings is totally empty! So no Settings menu any more. Considering we now only need one (that’s three before) batch deletion menu for deleting junk SMS, the menu of Messages tab is almost empty!

Ditto for Calls tab.

Our settings and menus are really simple now.

There is also one hard thing that lamed Leech Killer from the very beginning – call blocking. Due to the limitation of Android SDK, no universal implementation of call blocking is available. And we want perfect call blocking, not those work-on-some-phones-crash-on-others call blocking. So we chosen to wait. Android 1.5 came, without call blocking API. Android 1.6 came, still without it. Now Android 2.0 is out, but seems still missing it. Enough! We can not wait in vain any longer. We decide to do something “evil”, some tricks we believe are done also by other firewall software developers.

So, now you can block calls with Leech Killer 1.6, so long as you’ve rooted your Android and grant Leech Killer superuser permission. It’s work-on-some-phones-not-on-others, but at least it never crashes. It falls back on giving warnings when unable to block calls. You can easily turn if off in Settings if you think it sucks. We think it sucks, too. But at least it is possible now.

让简单的事情更简单，困难的事情有可能 ─ 滤除杀1.6发布现场

不过，仍然有一些事情能够并且理应更加简单。

放行来自黑名单的短消息，那黑名单的意义何在？我们真的需要除了“拦截”以外的其他过滤模式吗？我们当时的脑子真是没能有效“拦截”给进水了。

因此，在滤除杀1.6中，对黑色短信只有一种过滤模式，那就是拦截。这样就省却一个设置选项。

如果所有脏东西都是垃圾，那就只需两个列表：全部短信（收件箱）& 垃圾短信（垃圾箱）。在两个列表之间切换，用菜单要比用“列表模式”设置选项更简便。于是又少了一个设置选项。短信页的设置选项一个不剩了！那还要“设置”菜单作甚？再加上批量删除菜单由原来的三个变成了一个，短信页的菜单也几乎空了！

对来电页的简化同上。

现在，我们的设置和菜单是清爽之极。

另外，还有一件困难的事情一直困扰着我们 ─ 来电拦截。由于 Android SDK 的限制，没有通用的方法可以用来拦截来电。我们想要完美的来电拦截，而不是那些“在一些手机上有效，在其他手机上死翘”的来电拦截。于是我们选择等待。Andriod 1.5 来了，没有来电拦截 API。Android 1.6 来了，还是没有。现在 Android 2.0 都出了，可看起来还是没有。我们终于忍无可忍了：与其守株待兔，不如剑走偏锋。

在滤除杀1.6中，我们采用了一些诡秘的方法“勉强”实现了来电拦截功能。你必须先 root 你的 Android，然后授予滤除杀超级用户权限，方能使用这一功能。我们的来电拦截“在一些手机上有效，在其他手机上无效”，至少不会“死翘”。当无法拦截时，防御措施降级为警报。如果你觉得它很shi3，可以随时在“设置”中将其关闭。我们自己也觉得它挺shi3，不过聊胜于无，至少现在来电拦截有了可能。
