Voodo is New and Noteworthy in the whole App Store, again! This time in Japan, and both the iPhone and iPad versions are featured!

Considering how hard it is to gratify Japanese — they’ve indulged with too many exquisite things — I’m extremely proud of myself!

I must thanks my Japanese translators, キョウ　ラン　and　井上　直樹, once more. This amazing moment can not arrive without their help.

It is a really long time since Voodo was features as New and Noteworthy in the whole App Store. Along the way, Voodo won several smaller achievements, which I want to share with you:

Now you can share tasks with others. And it’s only one click to import received tasks to your Voodo.

Also, use Quick Actions to reschedule things quickly.

Other new features of Voodo for iPhone 3.3 and Voodo for iPad 1.3 include:

Collapsible Next section. If you want to focus just on what to do Now, you can collapse both Next and Done sections.
Toggle between Now and Today. People love Voodo’s unique Now Time Span. However, if you have really busy schedule, it is may be a burden for your eyes to tell apart Today tasks from Tomorrow tasks that both fall in Now section. You can now toggle between Now and Today by simply tapping the Now/Today section bar.
OAuth. With OAuth, you authorize Voodo to access your Google Calendar, but Voodo never needs to access your password. Surely, you can now be more confident of your account safety and privacy.

Faster launching – up to 5 times faster.
Faster quitting – up to 10 times faster.
Faster sync. If you have hundreds of tasks, it used to take tens of seconds to complete one bidirectional sync, now only three seconds.

Together with Task Copy, Subtasks are perfect for shopping lists that you can easily reuse.

Google Calendar users will be happy to find that tasks now can be marked Done and assigned Priority in Voodo calendar, using very simple and intuitive syntax.

One New Platform, Many More Languages

Finally, Voodo for iPad has come to the App Store, along with a new version of Voodo for iPhone (3.0.9).

For celebration, both versions are on Sale for $2.99, only for a week.

What’s New:

Optimized sync performance – Voodo is never frozen even if you are syncing hundreds of tasks.
Task list sorted by distance from current location in Nearby Mode.
Sort tasks by priority before sorting by title, so that the important tasks come first among all the timeless tasks.
Set time to today/now for un-due tasks on checking, so that Done tasks serve you better as your daily log.
Orientation Lock.
Localization in Japanese, German, Italian, Swedish and Hebrew.

The process is no easy, considering so many translators involved and twice rejections by Apple.

But the end result is worth all the while. With Voodo for iPad, it is the first time I dare say Voodo is a simple, powerful, and beautiful todo app. In principle, simple is beautiful; but in reality, an app is not necessarily beautiful just because it is simple. I learned it only after I did it.

Fortunately, I did not do it alone. I have a talented graphic designer for the classy icons. Most importantly, I have the most awesome Voodoers:

Voodo for iPad 总算登陆 App Store 了，同时还有 Voodo for iPhone 3.0.9。

为了庆祝，双版都以 $2.99 的价格特卖一周。

更新：

优化同步 — 即便在同步几百项事务时 Voodo 也能正常响应你的操作。
附近事务列表，按照到当前位置的距离排序。
事务在按标题排序前，先按优先级排序。如此，在所有随时事务中要事先行。
在完成未到期事务时将其时间设置为今天/现在。如此，“已完成”事务能成为你更好的工作日志。
竖排锁定。
本地化：日语、德语、意大利语、瑞典语、希伯来语。

整个过程相当曲折，要跟这么多人沟通协作，提交后还被 Apple 据了两次。

好在看到结果时，值。Voodo for iPad 让我第一次敢不脸红的说 Voodo 是一款简洁、强大、漂亮的 todo 软件。有人说，简单即美丽；但事实上，一款软件不会仅仅因为简单就一定美丽。这也是这次做过后我才明白的。

幸运的是，我不是一个人在做。我有一个很有才的 graphic designer 帮我画图标。更重要的是，我有一群 nb 的 Voodoer：

These are the two major things in Voodo 3.0.

Thanks to 이길주 for Korean localization! There are quite some awesome Voooders.

iOS Calendar Events integration means you can see both your events and tasks simultaneously. You surely make smarter schedules with such a comprehensive view.

The version number jumps from 2.2 to 3.0 because I want to align it with that of the upcoming Voodo for iPad. I’ve scheduled a Special Debut Sale for you. Keep tuned in.

One more thing. Another two localizations of Voodo is on the way, but there are still many to be done. If you’d like to help with translating Voodo to your language, please see Voodo Localization.

Though it is not a new major version, it has so many new things that it still deserves a record.

Among them the more important is Recurrent Tasks. Yes, better things can and should occur again and again.

What’s New:

Bug fix: resolve the crash on iOS 4.
Recurring Tasks that sync perfectly with Recurring Events in Google Calendar.
Local Notifications – you can now receive Due Task Reminders popped-up locally on your iPhone without setting Google Calendar Notifications. However, I still recommend Google Calendar Notifications in addition to local notifications if you want multiple reminders.
High resolution graphics for Retina Display.
Calendar Mode.
Complete syncing in background if you quit Voodo during syncing.
Support setting Due Time in Japanese Calendar, Buddhist Calendar.
Traditional Chinese localization, by CHEN MING FONG.

其中最重要的一项是”重复事务“——好的事情就应该一次一次的不断发生。

重复事务，与 Google 日历中的重复活动完美同步。
本地通知 ─ 现在你可以收到手机本地发出的到期事务提醒，不再依赖于 Google 日历通知。不过，如果你想要多重提醒，我还是推荐将 Google 日历通知作为附加通知。
高清图标，专为绚丽的 Retina 显示屏。
日历模式。
在 iOS 4 上，若退出时正在进行同步，同步将在后台继续直至完成。
